Calling all South African Artists…
We are looking for your help to revitalize the facade of our Havaianas South African Head office building in Cape Town.

That’s right, we are looking for some local talent to design a custom mural which will be painted on our building. With this much needed touch of colour we aim to add some of our Havi summer spirit to our head office.

We are looking for artwork that will help us standout physically, grab attention and represent our Havaianas culture/brand aesthetic with a touch of South African Flare.

Think Brazilian summers, colourful, bright , bold…Something that embodies the fun, vibrant & spontaneous way of life we South Africans enjoy.

Our goal for the mural is to integrate Havaianas Aesthetic into a local context. Drawing inspiration from previous campaign artwork, we would ask you, the artists to allow this to inspire/drive your designs. Thus, also keeping the final design in line with the brands aesthetic.

The winning designs will be chosen based on the best interpretation of the Havaianas South Africa spirit, displaying the perfect mix of local and Brazilian style.

The Winners would be announced on social media. On the 22nd January 2021
1ST PLACE WINNER:
Win a cash prize of R10000 and their artwork painted on our Head office.
2ND PLACE WINNER:
Wins a cash prize of R5000 and their artwork feature wall at our flagship store.
*All submitted designs will undergo preliminary screening. The winning designs will be chosen by a jury of South Africans and Brazilian judges.

The final mural will be (33 x 5 meters) and painted on the wall of the Havaianas South Africa Head office in Cape Town.

Competition closes on the 23.59 pm on the 15th of January 2020. No further submissions will be accepted after this time.

Submissions should be in 1:6,6 ratio as easily scalable to full size, Designs must be submitted in jpeg or PDF format. Designs must be at 300 dpi resolution. The attached files should not exceed 5 MB in size.

* Please note, that the competition seeks for designs for the mural and not the painting of it – the prize is just for the artwork not for the execution. The actual execution of the wall art will be done by a company specializing in large commercial scale artwork. However, if you would like to execute the artwork yourself when submitting your design please attach examples of previous murals you have completed as well as a quote. We are very happy to explore this option with the artists as well.
